What is it about New Zealand that makes it such an attractive holiday destination to us Ozzies?? Could it be the close proximity, cheap flights, the culture, cool weather, friendly people, beautiful scenery, chasing sheep or could it be the abundance of MASSIVE FUCKING KINGS!!!???....hahahaharrrrgh!!!! All the above.
It is a known fact that NZ breed their Kingfish BIG! The average king is between 10 - 20kgs, and fish over 40kgs are not uncommon. The average fish in NZ would be considered a trophy fish here in OZ.
On the Bonnici's 6th and most recent trip to NZ with Hayley's father Peter, they once again pushed their bodies and tackle to the Max!!. Equipped with an arsenal of Jigging Master products, Custom made JM Rods (in which Mike builds himself) and Shimano Stella reels, both them and their tackle stood the test of these back breaking, arm wrenching, line burning Nuggets!!!....aaaargh!
